The Order of the Dead, also called the UnDead Cult or Dead Cult, as a group of Daedra worshippers and necromancers dedicated to the Lord Haidoneus.[2] It was founded by the former tyrannical Emperor Antonius Mede,[3] and was lead by unknown in the Fifth Era.

Background and Founding[]

The origins of the Dead Order is around the time when then Crown Prince Antonius Mede studied at the Synod which practice necromancy. Upon getting caught, Antonius was banished by the Synod's Guild Council and put on house arrest which result in angering Antonius's cousin, Emperor Severus Mede who had controversy in the Elder Council to strip royal titles from Antonius due to necromancy. However despite having his banishment from the Synod, Antonius resumed his necromancy practice, despite Severus condemnation. Antonius's origins of becoming the most powerful necromancer because of his idol with Mannimarco, which he was defeated by the hands of Maradrie Lexian, the heroine of Oblivion.

Antonius as emperor[]

After the death of his cousin Severus Mede, Antonius ascended the Ruby throne in year 4E 99.[4] While in the same year and into his almost 30-year rule, Antonius secretly recruited murders, necromancers and even Daedra worshippers into the Order's ranks.

Imperial Civil War[]

When the Varian Ruby Rebellion broke out, Antonius enlisted his cult as mages for his own legions, but eventually was defeated by Reman Varian, the future Emperor.[5][6] Antonius escaped from the White-Gold Tower and went into Skyrim for two millennia.[7][8]

Fifth Era[]

Reemergence[]

When Antonius return from a two millennia in Fifth Era, he become immortality which was gifted by the Daedric Prince Haidoneus and had still been a leader of the Order he founded and was settled in his hideout called Gallows Hall while he sent the orders by couriers in the Orders in other headquarters. When King Shamar gro-Rogdul invaded Cyrodiil, Antonius and his cult summoned Haidoneus to launched his own invasion of Cyrodiil and later Tamriel. However the Prince was later defeated by the goddess Marcella in the Underworld.[9]

The Death of Antonius and Fragmented[]

The order was fragmented when Antonius was killed by Nelilia Sedaleth, a aspect of Marcella. Antonius's successor was unknown.[10]
